We're Having A Baby!!
Well I have decided to give this blog spot thing a try. After hearing my friend Whitney rant and rave about I thought I might as well jump on the band wagon. I am not the most computer literate person so who knows how this will go, but I will give it a try and maybe one day the computer and I will be best friends. Now to the reason for starting this site, my daughter. Brinley Maitland Russ was born on June 23, 2005. She weighed 7 lbs. and 6 oz.. She was 19.5 inches long. From the moment we found out that we were going to be blessed with this sweet baby we knew that we were going to be given a run for our money. It all started when we had our sonogram to determine the sex and our doctor said, "IT'S A BOY", (or at least 85 % sure it was, and that he would check next month to make sure) How these doctors get their numbers I will never know but he said 85% and I thought that was pretty high so I embraced it. We had a name picked out, bedding bought and clothes to fit a little prince. That month I had several dreams that my doctor was wrong and that I ended up delivering a little girl instead, but I told myself they are just dreams how could he be wrong. A month later we went back to the doctor and had our sonogram where he said and I quote, "How much boy stuff did you buy? Your having a GIRL!" Don't get me wrong, I was beside my self with joy. A little girl, what more could I have asked for. Really though how could a Obgyn of 12 years not know the difference between a boy and a girl. Although our doctor made the mistake I do believe that our sweet little girl was also involved by not cooperating in her positioning. Our next revelation that our soon to be bundle of joy was going to be a hand full was on May 4, 2005. Will and I were celebrating 3 years of wedded bliss and not to mention our last one pre children. We had dinner plans at one of our favorite restaurants, well that all got shot down when my lovely daughter decided to kick my bladder and for all of you moms you know what happened next! We went to the hospital thinking that my water had broken, only to find out that it in the last trimester as the baby gets bigger they can make your bladder their permanent home. And whenever they start to get active you better hope you have a change of clothes because they can, and in my case they will make you pee all over yourself. Three hours in the hospital brought us to that conclusion. Talk about embarrassing. Isn't pregnancy GREAT!!. Well the 2 months flew by and she was finally here. At 12:41 on June 23, 2005 we were handed our daughter. We could not believe our eyes. She was so small and precious. ( She looked just like her daddy and everyone let me know it, her daddy is so handsome don't get me wrong, but seriously 9 months of carrying this child around and I couldn't even tell she was mine, the only proof I had she was mine was the cut across my stomach and the 40 extra pounds I gained while carrying her, FIGURES!) She was instantly daddy's little girl. Will was so proud of her and a natural pro at fatherhood. From the moment she was out she was wide eyed and you could tell she didn't want to miss a beat and still to this day is the same way.
So I did it! I started a blog spot. Whitney you should be proud. I have to stop now so I don't give away all our stories in one day. I have 5 months to catch up on so be patient with me. Until next time. . .
